I love you because...

Rohin -- you're now 6 and well on your way to becoming a big boy and a man.  And I feel like I'm counting the days that I can hold onto you as a little child.  And it's quickly coming to an end.  It's sad and scary to me yet -- I'm so incredibly proud.  When I think of you, I always think about the slide story I wrote about a long time ago (where you wanted to go down by yourself).  You are such an amazing little boy -- so warm, loving, thoughtful -- and you're taught me much about myself as a man and as a father. You had the tough job of being the oldest child and teaching mommy and daddy how to be a great mommy and daddy. And I have to say -- you make it easy Rohin.  It's a pleasure being your daddy Rohin.  Your gentle, kind, loving soul inspires me to be a better father and man.

I wanted to make a list of things that I love about you:

• I love your gentle and kind spirit -- you just have this amazing spirit Rohin that is so sweet and kind.  You have this kindness that just emanates from you
• I love your thoughtfulness -- you always are so incredibly thoughtful.  I've caught myself getting upset and you have ways of being such a calming force.  I love how thoughtful you are -- you also are always willing to share with me and hand me little pieces of candy if you are given some
• I love reading books with you and cuddling together on the sofa.  You love to cuddle and like to lay down on me when I'm in my rocking chair.  Sometimes its you and Talin at the same time -- so like 100 pounds of cute kids on my lap
• I love your intellect -- you are so incredibly smart Rohin and you pick things up very quickly.  One of my favorite times with you was driving you to St. Luke in the mornings and practicing your spelling words together
• I love your imagination - you have this incredible imagination and create these games where you lead your brother and sister in them.  Watching these from afar are simply hearwarming
• I love your love -- being loved by you is simply amazing Rohin. Your little hugs or when you run and jump on me - your hugs around my waste
• I love you Rohin so much, with all my heart and soul.  You changed my world when you were born and you've been an absolute incredible joy in my life.
