I love you because

Talin my little boy - I thought I would pause for a bit and talk a little bit about you and what you mean to me in my life.  It's been a pleasure being your daddy and seeing you grow.  You and your brother and sister and mommy are the best tings that ever happened to me.  I feel like I wish I could just slow down time and keep you all at this age, as I'm having so much fun!  You'll find that the older you get, the more complicated life gets - -but the secret (which I am still trying to master), it's all about being focused in the moment, enjoy them to the full extent (breathe them it) and then be prepared to let go and move onto the next moment to enjoy.  In life, we are so lucky to be given a series of perfect moments in time.  And yet many times, life seems to want to pull us away from taking them all in.  Watching you zest for life, your enthusiasm, your love -- it really such an incredible feeling for me as your daddy.  I thought I would make a list of what I love about you:

• I love how caring and happy you are.  You're such an incredibly happy little boy with this incredible smile that just lightens up the room. You're always so caring too and always protective of your family and friends.  It's adorable
• I love how excited you are about life.  You just get so excited about things that your whole body shakes and you do this little run in place thing that is adorable.  I love coming home and see you  get excited and yell "daddy" or "mommy".  
• I love your heart -- simply put, you have a heart of gold.
• I love your love of the outdoors -- you have a connection to the outdoors, like what I had growing up.  You LOVE chainsaws, tractors, tools.  I think the best present I could give you could almost be a home depot gift card!  you keep asking me when I can buy you a chainsaw
• I love your cute voice -- when you were a little baby -- you had this so cute voice (and it still is).  I use that sometimes joking with mommy about things and we both get such big smiles on my face
• I loved sleeping next to you -- I made a bad habit of sleeping in your bed next to you.  I held onto that for 5 years and it was so hard to give up -- but I loved that connection with you
• I love talking about the day with you and our little questions and conversations at bed time
• I love the person you are and will become Talin.  I'm so proud of you and love you always.
