Thanksgiving in Brooklyn

Hi Talin,

Sorry it took a while to write -- things have been very busy (but fun). Let's start with Thanksgiving. we went up to New York with Mommy, daddy, Aeowyn, Rohin and you all traveled up in our car on a 4 hour trip to a three story Brownstone townhouse in Brooklyn were we stayed with Maria Auntie and Chris Uncle and their children (Ava and Layla). We stayed in the basement, where you slept in a crib next to mommy and daddy and the boys in another room next door. You loved playing in the house and were all over the place. You and Rohin loved the upstairs playroom with all of the toys and occupied yourselves exploring the house. We visited the Brooklyn Children's museum one day -- where you loved making pretend pizzas and the Afria room. We also went to the macy's day parade -- where you loved watching the floats. We also went to Harmony park, which we later found out was the same playground that Knuffle Bunny frequents... On Thanksgiving night, we went over to Lulu Auntie's house -- where you and Rohin and Aeowyn were angels. One touching moment that you need to know was when daddy was putting you in the car after diner. You looked at daddy and said "daddy - I love you" and then said "I like your shoes daddy". It pretty well brought tears to your daddy's eyes -- what a perfect ending to a Thanksgiving day. You played music and played monster so nicely together. We had a wonderful dinner together with our family and friends (about 30 in total). We then packed up and came home that Sat. We had perfect weather -- it's been almost 70 here recently.

When we got home, this past Sunday, we decorated for Christmas and are gearing up for Santa's visit. You were very curious about all of this and are a HUGE fan of the electric train. You and Rohin (and Aeowyn to some extent) take turns driving the train. You always like to ask if we can do the train "right now". You say this in a way that sounds somewhat like a cute meow... You use this for other things -- particularly if we say something is for tomorrow -- you'll counter it to say "right now".

You continue to do great in school Talin. The teachers were telling us how helpful you are and swept one day in the class so well that the teachers didn't have to. They also tell us stories about how sensitive you are to others and trying to help them and make them fill better. You're such a caring little boy and have a great sense of humor. Those are true gifts Talin -- always appreciate them. You have this laugh that is pretty infectious when you hear it. You love to play outside and have a great imagination. You ride around with Rohin in the little gator and pretend to move sand, cut down trees, play fireman and many other games that you two cook up.

You have a great vocabulary and can pretty well count to 10 and know much of your ABCs. You also are learning colors now. Mommy and daddy think you're also starting to "thin" out from some of your baby fat days. You're wearing a size 3 clothes already and a size 10 shoe. You love your baths and would take two a day if it were allowable. You're still a great eater and will try anything practically. You even ate an olive recently and told me it was like a grape!

Christmas is definitely going to be fun this year Talin! Santa Clause knows that you'r a good little boy! Mommy and daddy are so proud of the way you are growing up.
