End of Spring 2013

Talin,

You’re growing into such a great little boy – it’s exciting times with your birthday coming up soon.  One of the amazing things is your memory!  You get things in your head and you really stick to them – I call this persistence and it’s a great trait to have – one that really will serve you well ahead in life.  For example, you had it in your head that you were going to get a tool box.  Mommy and daddy heard about this tool box every day (every every every day) until you finally got the toolbox.  You love that tool box and practically slept with it every night.  Then, it was the weed whacker.  We got you and Rohin the weed whackers and you both love to go out and help daddy cut grass with them.  But the amazing thing is that you get excited about it and then stick to your convictions.
In other news, you’ve been going through some changes recently in school when your teacher suggested you stop napping.  This led to you hitting some of your fellow classmates.  You definitely get grouchy when you are tired and that’s definitely the case here.  We put you back on your nap and you are back to your old self.  One thing that you’ve had this year that hasn’t been in years past is allergies in your eyes – so we have you on eye drops now to help.
One interesting story for you Talin is about fishing.  A couple of weeks ago, we were driving to church and you asked “daddy – can you teach me to fish”.  When we went to mass, the gospel story was about “fishers of men”.  I was astounded at the coincidence of this happening.  It reminded me that God is everywhere in our lives and while we may not acknowledge it – he/she is ever-present.  I smiled and thanked God for you children.  And yes, I will teach you to fish – both figuratively and truly!  The other day mommy also got some fishing rods for the three of you.  Immediately, Rohin and Talin went to the bath tub and sink and spent an hour or so fishing for mgnetic fish.  You both really enjoyed it tremendously and we are going to do some fishing this summer at grandma's house in order to see how the three of you make out with the real thing!  For birthday season, mommy and daddy bought you all fishing rods to use for real at grandma’s house.

The other big news is the construction projects.  This year, we had a new barn built, our patio done and outdoor fireplace and the driveway re-done.  At the same time, we also did a lot of landscaping.  This meant tons of fun for the jopp children.  You loved to play in the pile of dirt, you’d put things in the big sand pile.  In fact, you lost your clippers by burying them in the pile of sand that was used for cement You and Rohin also helped daddy plant grass seat and would pretend to be pirates and would dig holes looking for gold. I’m very proud of how helpful you are Talin.  You’re so full of happiness and joy.  You love to ask daddy how you can help and really growing quickly.  I personally enjoy watching you engage in your environment and turn into the boy and man you are becoming.

Another fun thing that we did recently was to visit Hershey park with some of our friends.  We drove up on a Saturday night and checked into a hotel (Hershey lodge). We had such a great time.  We checked-in and then went over to the park and rode the carousel, balloon ride, a bee ride, a mini-carousel (multiple times – your favorite), a truck ride and then also you rode with mommy in the race car ride.  After a really fun day in the park, we went back to the hotel and crashed.  The next morning we went out for lunch and then went over to the chocolate factory. You really loved the ride that explained how chocolate is made and then we went to a 4D movie, which was a detective story.  You and Aeowyn didn’t like it so much and for days have talked about how the bad man sprayed us with chocolate!

That's it for now our little boy!  We love you!
